Ritual Kitchen, Gloucester rd, Cheltenham
A birthday special for me. A great bit of brunch and excellent coffee. Roasted all in-house. A roastery, cafe, kitchen, shop and training facility all in one.
Let's jump in and experience an excellent day out.
Coffee
First was a flat white, an excellent texture with taste notes of butterscotch, plum and cashew nut. A classic roast with a robust nutty flavour.
Next was a batch brew with taste notes of honey, Ceylon tea and plum. I thought it was very tea-like in taste and mouthfeel.
When it comes to coffees Ritual has plenty of options, with 5-6 different batch brews and 3 rotating espressos.
Ritual history
The ritual kitchen started in December of 2022 in the Lansdown Industrial Estate in Cheltenham. Unfortunately, with Ritual being a new roastery, there is not much history to cover, but with their vast range of options, their history will only get better.
At Ritual it's all about incredible food and locally sourced produce.
Ritual has a unique take on the cafe retail experience with a massive wall showcasing different coffees for sale as well as t-shirts and bags.
Decor
An open feel with a rustic feel; recycled plastic tabletops and metal chairs are featured. A true authentic feel. simple but vast. Located in an industrial estate not far from the centre. It's well worth the trip, but unfortunately you may have to drive to the location.
The only thing I did not like about the inside was the noise. I understand it's a roastery, so it's hard to limit the noise.
Value for money
Very well priced, as the area can be a bit more expensive. A flat white was £4.00, and batch brew was £3.80.
I had their French toast, which was £14.00, and we also grabbed a brioche bacon sandwich, which was a tiny £8.00. Our food was also very reasonably priced.
Summary
A very good experience and a place I will be visiting again. Plenty of options for everyone from the casual brunch person to the coffee nerd and enthusiast.
I recommend picking up a bag of coffee to take home and have an amazing cup.
