Love a sticky toffee.
Clay Pigeon is an exceptional coffee, roasted medium to dark and with a diverse range of flavours. Clay pigeon has a raspberry aroma and a strong pineapple flavour. Best with a pour-over and a short Aeropress ratio, such as 1:4.
I did have the opportunity to try this coffee in an espresso and a flat white, and my verdict was that it's fantastic, but it's still best in a pourover. I believe it is still good in milk-based beverages, which I attribute to the darker roasting.
The History of Dark Arts
Dark Arts was founded in 2014 by Brad Morrison in Hackney, London, where they are still based. The goal was to roast and sell exceptional coffee, which I can now say has been accomplished.
Dark Arts has a distinct marketing style with excellent packaging and coffee names, such as "Clay Pigeons". They use social media to share playful and humorous meme-based content.
As of May 2026, Dark Art has just re-released a magazine called The Dealer Magazine.

Culmination
Finally, Clay Pigeon is an excellent coffee that is best enjoyed as a pour-over or Aeropress. Dark Arts is one of my favourite roasters due to its distinctive style.
It costs around £15 for 250g, which is a fantastic price for such high quality. I recommend checking out all of the Dark Arts merchandise, particularly the t-shirts, and following them on social media.
