Classic Coffee 

Another lovely coffee, Wrap Party, is a darker roast than I would normally have, and for that reason I would solely recommend this as an espresso-based drink, like an americano. Vibrant dark raspberry and dark chocolate are conveyed in non-milk-based drinks. In a flat white, this coffee has a slight nutty flavour but is mostly chocolate.

I don't believe this coffee is suited to a percolation extraction method like a pour-over or moka pot. I found the flavour to be very tart and raspberry-forward.

Studio Black's Story

Studio Black opened in Bolton in early 2024 by two lads called Callum and Tobias. Both are creatives in TV and film and have a passion for coffee. 

Taken from their website, "Studio Black was founded with a single vision: to create exceptional coffee for the creative minds shaping the world".

Studio Black offers an SB on set service, which is a coffee van like many of us have grown used to but on film and TV sets. This is such a cool concept, and I love that they're succeeding in this. 

If you're a film or TV manager looking to book a catering van for a project, I think you now have your answer. I would say these are probably the best.

Conclusion 

In summary, Wrap Party is a lovely coffee but not perfect. Great espresso and a nice flat white. I love what they're doing and can't wait to see what they have in store for the future.

Priced at £50 a kg, this is a good midpoint for forward-thinking espressos. If you get a chance, check out Studio Black and make sure you look at their socials.
