The Brew
When a coffee suggests a creamy flavour, I always start with a flat white. This is due to the natural creamy taste of a flat white, which I believe best exemplifies the flavour notes.
In this case, I was correct: El Paraiso is an excellent milk-based coffee, whether as a flat white or cortado. I can taste a grape soda float, which is grape soda mixed with ice cream. This was very enjoyable.
As always, I like to try the coffee in various ways to fully understand the roast. This time, I tried both an AeroPress and a pour-over. Both were a little harsh in flavour for me; they tasted like grape cordial concentrate with a melon finish.
Round Hills History
Round Hill was founded in 2012 in Somerset by a small time and seems to operate still with a small team today. Their purpose is to deliver clarity and consistency from farm to cup.
Their coffee menu is seasonal as they follow global harvest cycles; this is amazing to see. They are big on supporting small farms.
A little bit from their website: Our sourcing is built around key relationship coffees – farms and producers who we have bought from for the best part of a decade and plan to continue supporting well into the future.

In Summary
This coffee is perfect for a guest espresso at a cafe or a regular rotation on your home coffee bar. This is a roastery I can see myself going back to and enjoying more of their coffee.
It's priced at £49 per KG, which is mid-range for a bag but far exceeds the price.
