Roast Records 004 - Arbar El Oasis by Ozone coffee

Surprise, another April roast record. I loved this coffee so much I had to post about it as soon as possible. This roastery plays an important role in the coffee industry both in New Zealand and now in the UK. Let's jump in and explore this voyager from across the sea.

The coffee

To determine the best brewing method for this coffee, I consult both the bag and Ozone's website. The conclusion was that the Aeropress was the best choice due to the coffee process and taste notes, specifically the white honey process and the lemon curd taste notes.

This coffee possesses a high acidity and a heavy lemon aroma, which is beautiful in the morning. A pour-over also exposes the lemon curd and raspberry notes, leaving a great mouthfeel.

Unfortunately, I do not believe this coffee works well with milk because the flavours are lost and leave a bitter aftertaste.

Ozone Coffee

Reading a bit about Ozone on their website, they stand for creating enjoyable coffee, whether it's a single origin or a blend. They market primarily to the majority, aiming to include everyone.

Three friends founded Ozone in Fitzroy, New Plymouth, New Zealand, in 1998 with the goal of creating an inspiring coffee shop. Later, they expanded to London on Leanord Street, eventually opening a second London location.

Summery

To summarise, Ozone Coffee's Arbar El Oasis is a lovely coffee that has been carefully roasted. The high acidity can be a bit much, but given that this is the current trend in coffee, it's a fantastic coffee.

Priced at £42.95 a KG its a great starting place for a intresting coffee.

I really love what Ozone is doing and hope they keep going.
